Farewell To An Icon - Whitney Houston

On February 11, 2012 the world lost a music icon, Ms. Whitney Houston.

This past Saturday her closets friends and family celebrated her home going at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. Her funeral was an invitation only service. Along with her mother, Cissy Houston, and her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, there were many big name celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Reverend Jesse Jackson and Dionne Warwick. Kevin Costner, Tyler Perry and Clive Davis were among many who spoke about their memories of Whitney. Stevie Wonder, R.Kelly, Alicia Keys and Kim Burrell performed musical tributes at the service.

Whitney's final burial place will be at the Westfield N.J.'s Fairview Cemetery along side her father John Russel Houston. Whitney Houston was loved and adored by so many people across the world and her music and memories will continue to live on forever.
