Saving money is not the easiest thing to do!

It seems as if there are bills, bills, bills, and more bills every corner you turn. However, saved money can be a life saver for emergencies that come up in the future. My grandmother recommended that I save at least ten dollars a pay check and put it in a safe place. Because she saved money she was able to handle her bills and assist me while I was an undergraduate in college.

When you are saving money you're investing in yourself and giving yourself a cushion to fall back on in emergency situations.

Here are some saving tips:

  • Designate a particular percentage of your income to pay yourself...i.e 10% or $10.00 per pay check
  • If you have hard time saving, check to see if your job allows you to set up a direct deposit that splits your paycheck into designated accounts. That way you can designate some of your pay to go directly into a savings account.
  • Do not touch your savings. If you must, pick a set time and amount when you may dip into it to treat yourself...i.e. $30 every three months
