It’s almost that time of the year again; the time that women look forward to. The one night when you are courted and continuously reminded how special you are by your sweetheart. Flowers, candy, balloons, and cards await at your doorstep, and you are whisked away for a night on the town planned by your prince charming.

Let’s be realistic though, we don’t live in a Disney Movie and it is 2012. Try something new this year and make this special day about you and your Valentine. Be creative and create a night of romance and memories for both of you to enjoy. Consider this a day not only about us, ladies, but as a time to celebrate your relationship and love with your partner. Try something different such as: cooking his favorite breakfast in the morning in his t-shirt and shorts, bringing lunch to his job, or wearing sexy lingerie under your clothes at dinner (a dessert for him to look forward to). If you plan on keeping the night simple cook a favorite dinner both of you can enjoy together and watch a love movie you picked out together (consider Love Jones, Jason’s Lyric, Love and Basketball or Brown Sugar). If you plan on going out for the night, go to the restaurant where you had your first date and then snuggle up at the drive-in movies.

The importance of this day is not about expensive flashy gifts, but rather showing each other your appreciation of your relationship and all you do for one another.
